Not long ago we brought you the first preview of the movie ‘Julie 2.’ While the sneak-peak raised a lot of eyebrows and questions for the Sanskari Pahlaj Nihalani (for obvious reasons), it also brought along the limelight for its lead, Raai Laxmi.

In fact, the Southern siren who has done over 60 films in four South-Indian languages is all geared to go places after her Bollywood debut shines on the silver screen. However, it wasn’t a cake walk. Raai had to lose over seven-and-a-half kilos for ‘Julie 2’ and perfect that bikini bod for showbiz.

How do I know that? Because Raai told it herself.

In an interview to The Quint, Raai Laxmi spoke about her upcoming film and more. Including her much-talked about affair with M. S. Dhoni. When asked if her 5-year-long relationship affected her career, she said,

“It didn’t affect my career. But it seems to have made a permanent place in my reputation.”

Although she opened up about her past, she also went out on a limb to state the current state of affairs. She even asked the question we have all wanted to know about.

“The strange part is, the headlines in Mumbai make it seem as if I am seeking publicity by talking about him.”

Talking further, the bold actress even spoke about the time and way she met the ex-captain of the Indian cricket team.

“I was a sports enthusiast from school, won many medals for games. And I wasn’t crazy about any one sport. I wasn’t a cricket fan as such. I was just a sports fanatic when I met Dhoni. One thing led to another, and here I am still answering questions about him when I have moved on. He has moved on.”

Such affairs do leave an impact on people mind’s but it doesn’t mean that she can’t start fresh and start without any baggage. Hopefully, the kind friends in the press will take note!
