This Real-Life Love Story Sounds Like A Scene Straight Out Of A Movie

It is safe to say that romantic movies have more takers than compared to the other genres. Consider this, every girl is a sucker for mushy, cheesy reel-life romance and when the time for a weekend watch, guys are left with no other option but watch what their girl wants to. And no it is not called being a sexist, but it is widely known as being in love.

Love makes one do things, you know. Things you probably wouldn’t do otherwise and actions you didn’t know you were capable of doing. Sacrifice does play a part, selfless ones, I mean. And why not? Ask anybody who’s been in love and you’d get the answer in no time.

While we are still talking about love, somebody asked ‘What is one moment in your life you thought could only happen in a movie?’ on Quora and this answer just brought an instant smile on my face. Read it here.

“My girlfriend and I attend the same college in India. And luckily, one summer we were both in Europe for our internships. She was working in Paris and I was visiting her from Zurich.

I went to Paris to meet her every weekend during that summer, and her internship ended about three weeks earlier than mine. This was the last weekend we’d be together. I travelled via the TGV trains that covered those parts of France and Switzerland. So she was dropping me off at the Paris train station and we were standing right in front of the train I was supposed to board.

Now, our relationship was still in the early phases so the prospect of not seeing each other for three more weeks after that day was excruciating to the both of us. She was supposed to leave for India the very next day. And I had a very very important meeting in office the next day.

We were talking outside the train while the departure time kept coming closer and a sinking feeling in our hearts decided to make it worse saying goodbye. I could see it in her eyes that she wanted me to stay, but couldn’t ask me to do that because of the critical meeting I had to attend the next day.

Time stopped for me, right that moment. I evaluated what was important for me, this girl I was madly in love with, or a meeting I wouldn’t be half interested in the next day and wouldn’t remember in 10 years. The rational part of my mind refused to let emotion take over, though. And I couldn’t ignore how important this meeting would be for my career.

Both of us kept standing there on the station, while the other passengers boarded the train. Five minutes to departure. I’m still looking at her, hoping she would give in and tell me to not go. She didn’t. She remained strong.

She asked me to board the train. It was time. I didn’t move.

4, 3, 2, 1 minute left to departure. I smile at her. I’d made up my mind. She gave me the most puzzled look I’d ever seen and just gazed back. The train started to move. She freaked out, “Your train is leaving!! What are you doing?!”

“It’s okay”, was all I could tell her before I calmly brought her face close to mine and kissed her right then and there. She understood what I just did and started crying and jumping up and down like a little kid who just got a bag full of candy.

I noticed a guy who had been standing there in the distance and he smiled back at us. He seemed to have figured it out too.

That day I made a decision about what was more important to me, and my happiness. This was t most romantic thing I could think of doing for someone. I absolutely love this girl.”

Yes, this is exactly how true love looks like! True, unconditional love…
