Life is a humdrum affair and so much more. Be it the hardships that play the villain or the circumstances of the aftermath, picking up a fight with destiny is difficult than it sounds. For anyone!

In fact, especially for people who palpitate under pressure, to make ends meet. People like you and me, and several others who are still figuring it out. While some put on a brave face and suffer in silence, sadly, there are souls who lose it to life.

In an unfortunate similar fate, a 25-year-old software engineer, identified as Gopikrishna Durgaprasad, jumped to his death in Pune just after 3 days of joining an IT firm.

According to the assistant police inspector (API) Dilip Jaisingkar of Vimantal police station, the lad who was basically from Andhra Pradesh was placed in a software company in Pune three days ago.

The sad part is, before jumping to his death, he even inflicted 25 cuts on his left wrist with a knife. When that didn’t work out, he committed suicide from the terrace of the four-storied hotel he was put up in.

Officials have now recovered his suicide note, written and signed in English and it bares the reality of the corporate world. He wrote,

“In IT there is no job security. I’m worried a lot about my family.”

While the note was found in his hotel room, the police is still uncertain about the company he was working with.

The incident was reported in the light of massive layoffs by organisations in the city.

Reports also suggest that the IT grief-stricken employees are now in the process of forming a union to stand up against such practices by IT companies.

Venkatrao Murthy, a relative of the deceased, said,

“He was a good boy. He had no bad habits at all. He did his work and lived peacefully. I do not know what happened.”

How long before lives are treated with care before numbers? How long?
