Programmer Was Asked To Work For ‘Free’. His Response Teaches Us The Best Way To Say ‘NO’

How often have you been asked to work for free? All those who agree, say “Aye”. When I was fresh out of college, I did work at a couple of places for free. Because I wanted to gain the exposure and having no prior work experience, I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity. But, I hate it when people just assume, that under the garb of exposure, people will willingly work for free.

Something similar happened to this programmer. Zack Zundel was asked to do coding work for 40 hours for free. He turned out the offer and in a manner that is not only respectful but worth applauding.  Zack posted his replies on Twitter and they have been liked 48k times and retweeted 15k times.

So let’s begin this epic tale…

1. The opportunity knocks on the door…er.. but with terms and conditions!

2. Work for free? It’s everybody’s dream…

3. Why was the person asking for work getting angry? Umm… shouldn’t it be the other way around!

4. Look who’s talking?

Zack put out this screenshots of his conversation on Twitter and since then it has gone super viral.

The guy who had offered the job was furious and threatened to sue Zack.

How will this saga end? Only time will tell but one thing is for sure, I’m never messing up with Zack!
So, ladies and gentlemen, this is how it’s done: The polite way. When life asks you to work for ‘free’, for ‘exposure’, you now know how to deal with it. ☺️
