Priyanka Was Called ‘Shameless’ For Wearing A Tricolour Scarf Which PM Modi Wore Too BTW

Yesterday, India celebrated its 70th Independence Day. But 2017 makes me question if we are the free citizens of independent India.

Now, I’m optimist and I firmly believe that one should ignore the negativity in order to keep going. But that does not mean that one should keep up with casual sexism, irrational comments, cyber bullying or anything that is simply, in layman’s term, WRONG.

And so here’s us, standing at the crossroads because Priyanka Chopra just got trolled for wishing her country a Happy Independence Day. The focus of the story was the TRICOLOUR scarf that she happily held, not anticipating what’s coming her way.

Indians of the internet thrashed her, called her shameful and said that she is ‘playing’ with the nations pride. They even went out to say that she should be barred from entering the country.

After being through the comments sections, we also encountered a few people who supported PC and took her side. They said,

 

Now, I am not an expert but should a woman wish Happy Independence Day to her country, in a saree? For all I know, it’s a scarf and if my memory serves me well, PM Modi and his tri-colour scarves are very well known and appreciated.

Then, what is this? It’s just a simple scarf for God’s sake.
