This Woman Penned Down Her Anger At Everything That A Woman Has To Face On A Daily Basis

Women.

Haven’t we always lived under a diktat? Told to wear, told to keep quiet, told to talk, told to dress up, told to dress down, told to be brave, told to be complacent, told to live, told to die on the piers on dead husbands, told to stay away from school, told to be the sole bread earner, told to leave, told to stay….the list goes on. Has anything been our choice?

The subtleness of the abuse has got a lot of us angry.

Venting it out, this New Delhi Researcher, Shruti Ambast took to Facebook in expressing it in this beautiful poem.

Bras offend
So do breasts
And what do you know?
So does a flat chest,
Skirts are a no-no
Because legs are bare
Jeans bhi mat pehno
Because legs are there,
What about a long skirt?
Dilemma, yaar!
(Brb, consulting my book of sanskaars)
What if I cover myself
From head to toe?
*cough* secularism *cough* security *cough*
Sorry. But no.
Enough! I renounce clothing
From now I will be nude
No way! What do you think you are –
A dude?

In times like these, the world needs another suffragette.
