On Friday, Indian Army major Mukund Varadarajan gave his life for the country while fighting militants in an ambush in Shopian, 6km from Srinagar. And Captain S Srinivasan, a pilot from Air India was given the responsibility to fly the body from Delhi to Chennai to his parents.
But Captain Srinivasan did something beyond his duty. He wrote a moving condolence letter addressing the martyr’s parents as ‘Dearest Father and Mother”. The raw emotion of the letter is enough to drive the strongest of men to tears.
Here’s the letter

Moments like these restores our faith in humanity. There are a few good men and a few good men is all we need. May his soul rest in peace.
