Now Even Pizzas Are Not Safe In Noida. More Than Dozens Of Pizzas Are Robbed Every Week!

People in Noida are living in dark times. No, I am not talking about the power-cuts there. In addition to people (women mostly) not feeling safe in Noida, now even pizzas can’t feel safe in the city. In a strange turn of events, there are pizza thieves lurking in the city, attacking pizza delivery boys and snatching pizzas. We are in no way making this up.

According to a Times of India report, there are over a dozen pizza robberies per week in Noida and Greater Noida, that earlier used to go unreported. They weren’t reported earlier because the delivery boys and owners thought it to be unusual. A manager of a Dominos restaurant in Noida, says,

“We make a written complaint about it, but most times, no FIR is filed. A written complaint is required because we have to document stolen pizzas, and report it to our superiors. Par FIR ka jhanjhat kaun lega? Pizza hi toh hai.”

 

It is not like they steal one or two, they snatch all the boxes the delivery boys carry at the time of the incident. A pizza delivery boy says,

“It’s not as if they steal only one pizza when they rob you. Saare le jaate hain jitney ho aapke paas. Normally, a delivery boy carries 4-5 pizzas when out for delivery.”

 

Delivery boys even revealed that most of the incidents happen near colleges and the robbers seem educated to them. Ravi, a delivery boy from Greater Noida adds,

“Most of these incidents happen near Knowledge Park, where all the colleges are. It could be because it’s a deserted area, but the thieves seem to be well-off, not the regular criminals. Normal choron ko pizza chura ke kya milega?”

 

The most common spots for pizza robberies in Noida include areas near Sector 58, Sector 62, Sector 12 and places close to the Expressway.

 

At first, the managers never used to believe the delivery boys,

“Shuru mein toh managers maante hi nahi thay ki aisa kuch hua hai. Kehte thay ki tum ne koi ghapla toh nahi kiya hai, aur ab keh rahe ho chori ho gaye. That is why we insisted on informing the police. Report na likhwayein, phir bhi bata toh dete hi hain police ko.”

 

If you are living in Noida or Greater Noida and are psyched about the arrival of the pizza you just ordered, don’t be. What if before reaching you it gets stolen!
