‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ Goes Off Air. Channel Might Scrap The Show Permanently, Actors In Shock.

‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ is a regressive show that had faced a lot of flak, even before it aired. If you didn’t know already, the show revolves around the life of 10-year-old, who is married to an 18-year-old girl.

People united and slammed the makers for a degenerate concept and shameful storyline. Keeping in mind how influential the audience of prime-time TV is in our country, the Internet filed a petition to Smriti Irani and requested her to take the show off air.

On Monday night, Sony Television did not air the show on its designated time. A Hindustan Times report said that the channel has reportedly pulled the plug on the show, on Government orders.

TV actor Karan Wahi spoke about the show and failed to make sense of the whole situation. Actor Suyyash Rai, who is also a part of the show, asked his fans to wait for the story to unfold.

But it was too senseless a thought as episode after episode, the actress (Tejaswi Prakash) and the 10-year-old actor (Affan Khan) had romance brewing between them.

The show announced a leap to get away with the controversies, but before anything could happen, Monday night came bearing shocking news for the actors, producers and anyone who is remotely associated with the show.

HT reached actor Jiten Lalwani for a comment. Jiten, who stars in the show said,

“Yes. If the episode hasn’t aired then you know the news is true.”

Actor Suyyash Rai was disappointed too. He was waiting to re-enter the show after the leap. He said,

If this is happening, then I am shocked. Tejaswi is a close friend so I wanted to be a support to her and work with her. I wanted the show to do well as a lot of hard work goes into a show when it is launched. So many people including technicians will lose their jobs when the show shuts.”

The actors seemed to have no clue that the show will be taken off air. Where did the time go when TV shows like Deekh Bhai Deekh, Fauji, Mahabharata, Malgudi Days used to be something we used to look forward to?
