Commando Who Survived 6 Bullets In The Pathankot Attacks Is Ready To Fight Again. Salute!

The unprecedented attack on the Pathankot Air Force station on 1 January 2016 exhibited stories of unparalleled valor. The nation venerated the 8 martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and other the soldiers who got injured.

One of the soldiers who got injured was the Garud Commando, Sailesh Gaur. He kept on fighting the terrorists even after being hit by 6 bullets.

And now, there’s some good news: The Commando has recovered completely and is raring to go again.

The Garud Commando cannot wait to join his unit once again. He was severely injured in the abdomen because he was hit by bullets. While he was injured and bleeding profusely, he made sure that the terrorists didn’t encroach upon the technical area, where the IAF fighter jets are kept.

 

He was treated in Pathankot Military Hospital. Given the amount of blood loss, the doctors were amazed that he is still alive.

4 bullets and splinter pieces were removed from his abdomen. Due to internal bleeding, he lost around 3 litres of blood.

 

He also exclaimed that Hollywood movies like Corporal and Rambo inspired him a lot during his school days.

His career choice was quite discernible: the three generations of his family has been in Defence Forces. When he joined the Air Force in the year 2010, he emerged as an all-rounder in his unit.

After his fitness check, he’ll join his unit again.
