Transition is beautiful. It is always very overwhelming to see something in a time capsule, because then you can notice the stark differences between the present and the past, with them being right next to each other.
Julien Knez, a French Photographer, decided to celebrate the transition of the most iconic city in the world; Paris. At 71st anniversary of the city’s liberation from Nazi control, he came up with a photo series where he used the pictures of Paris in 1940s against the backdrop of what it looks like now. Each image wonderfully shows how the city has changed, but is still the same somehow. The style, the people, the culture…remains.
