Folks on social media, particularly Twitter, can get really savage at times, as people have often discovered to their detriment. You may think you’ve done something perfectly normal, and yet, you’ll suddenly be bombarded by trolls mocking you for it. It’s worse when you’re a celebrity; you cannot catch a break! Your every tiny move will be dissected and if there’s even an iota of troll-fodder, there’s no saving you. And last night Karan Johar and Parineeti Chopra got a taste of this!
ICYMI, Karan Johar has been sending out feelers on Twitter about his upcoming Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar. A lot of anticipation surrounded the announcement of the actress opposite Akshay Kumar in the movie, which ended last night when KJo finally spilled the beans.

However, something quite unprecedented happened when people saw the announcement, which may have rained on Karan Johar and Parineeti Chopra’s parade.
Karan’s tweet, which though announced Parineeti as the actress, used the movie poster featuring Akshay Kumar’s face along with it. Twitter found this rather hilarious and embarked on a mocking mission!
The trolls got rather creative, but stayed mostly sarcastic.
Parineeti Chopra was pretty much called an Akshay Kumar doppleganger. And vice versa too!

In the end, a resigned Karan Johar gave in to public demand and posted the announcement again with Parineeti Chopra’s picture along with it. But of course, he added his own touch to it!
