Oprah Winfrey needs no introduction. From a talk show host to a brilliant actor and then an exemplary philanthropist making using of every penny and word she has, the media mogul has given back to the community and continues to give more in ways more than one.

Not to forget, little girls all over the world look up to her as an inspiration that she truly is, dreaming to become like her as they grow up in the world that belittles women at every opportunity.

In fact, it is for these reasons and more, the fellas at the Golden Globes decided to present Oprah with the Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement and honour her contributions.

If you missed it, she looked radiant and more composed than ever, walking up the stage, making history as the first African-American woman to receive it such a coveted award.

Needless to say, the moment was met with a thunderous applause by the gathering who couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than Oprah.

However, the claps grew louder when Oprah said a few words and ended up giving one of the most iconic speeches the world has ever heard. Lending her voice to the #TimeIsUp movement, she said,

Oprah

As a part of #TimeIsUp actors wore black to the awards as a sign of protest against all the powerful men who have exploited women at work for years now. You could say that it is risen out of the ashes of the powerful #MeToo movement that united women all over the world in a fight against sexism and sexual harassment.

Not just that, she left a message for the same little girls who dream to make it big, in a hope that they’d never say #MeToo.

I don’t know about you but this is as good as it gets. Not only has Oprah inspired us all but she has also given a fitting reply to all those sexual predators out there, warning them that their ‘Time Is Up.’

Hopefully, this will this will bring an end to #MeToo.
