Here’s Why Nutella Is Toxic For Your Body. The Facts Will Leave You Shell Shocked!

Nutella!

We all love Nutella and none of us can undoubtedly say that the idea of devouring a spoonful or two of it does not excite us. What we do not know is what makes us feel that way. Is it the deliciousness? It has to be! Doesn’t it?

But it’s not.

These are the things that make Nutella the most loved processed food on the globe and maybe the most poisonous as well.

Here is the breakdown of everything it contains.

Fats

Even low-fat products have fats and if you think Nutella is one of them, consider this.

Nutella contains 67% saturated fat and processed sugar by weight. A TWO-TABLESPOON (37 gram) serving of Nutella contains 200 calories, 11 grams of fat, 3.5 of which are saturated and 21 grams of sugar. To put that into perspective, a typical chocolate and nut candy bar has 250 to 300 calories and 12 to 16 grams of fat.

Vanillin (an artificial flavor)

You’ll see this word if you read the list of ingredients carefully and look by because you’d assume that it has something to do with vanilla. Well, that’s where you might go wrong.

Most people don’t even read the ingredients much less research on them. But if you do, you’ll realize that Vanillin contains MSG (monosodium glutamate) which rendered our dear Maggi to be banned throughout the whole country.

The part that affects us is not the sodium but the glutamate which releases excitotoxin which stimulates the reward system of the brain, so we think it tastes better (than it actually does) and consequently we consume more.

And that’s not where it stops. It can impair our brain as much as to cause disabilities like  ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and olivopontocerebellar degeneration.

Palm Oil

Palm tree might be a natural ingredient, but until it’s fresh, it’s healthy. The more it’s processed the more oxidants it retains and can cause cholesterol problems which directly affect the heart.

Not just that, the mass production of palm oil has rendered orangutans and pygmy elephants, the smallest elephants on the planet, endangered. Most of Indonesia’s wild habitat, being the largest producer and exporter of palm oil, is in danger.

Soy lecithin

This comes from the degumming process of soy and is essentially a waste product containing solvents and pesticides and has a consistency ranging from a gummy fluid to a plastic solid. It is most commonly used as an emulsifier to keep water and fats from separating in foods such as margarine, peanut butter, chocolate candies, ice cream, coffee creamers and infant formulas.

Genetically engineered soy contains high concentrations of plant toxicants. The presence of high levels of toxicants in the GM soy represent thousands of plant biochemicals many of which have been shown to have toxic effects.

Reduced minerals whey

The demineralization of whey can strip off 90% of nutrition of the dairy by-product which is actually very good for health.

How much do we really know about our food?
