Vishwas K.S lost both his arms when he was just 10.

That has not stopped him from achieving glory. He recently won 3 medals in the Can-Am Speedo Swimming championships held in Canada.

But his swim of life has not been smooth.

He was watering the newly-cemented walls of his house under construction when he fell on live electric wires.

His father came to his rescue, but died on the spot, not before saving his son.

Vishwas remained in a coma for 2 months and lost both his arms. He never gave up and went on with his studies and graduated with a BCom degree.

He kept himself employed and busy with hobbies like dance, kung fu and swimming. His friends supported him and encouraged him to try new avenues to keep him busy and happy.

He fell in love with swimming and was encouraged by NGOs to pursue it full time.

Astha and Book A Smile helped him find a swimming pool, gave him nutritional support and took care of his training and accommodation. He also found encouragement from the senior citizens who swam in the pool with him.

Success followed the hard work and dedication when he was picked by SAI to represent India in the para-swimming championships held in Canada.

He won two silver medals in backstroke (100 m) and breaststroke(100 m) and a bronze in butterfly(50 m).
