Nitish Kumar Resigns And Becomes CM Again In Less Than A Day And The Memes Have Just Begun!

It is safe to say that Bihar politics is quite unlike any state affairs, with a caste-based political climate. In fact, topsy-turvy, if I may add. If you have followed your news feed, you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t, well, I’m here to help.

In a dramatic turn of events, Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar yesterday over corruption charges against his deputy and ally Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav.

While doing so, he dissolved the Mahasangathan or the ‘Grand Alliance’ between his party JDU and Lalu Yadav’s RJD. Late last night, Nitish Kumar met Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi to resign.

If that was bland for your taste; he has now in fact swapped allies to emerge again, on a lotus. Nahin samjhe? Hum batate hain.

It all began when Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Nitish Kumar’s bold stand against his allies who are involved in corruption. He tweeted saying,

While the change of hands was just starting to sink in, news flash of Nitish Kumar taking oath as the CM of Bihar took over, in less than 24 hours.

That’s right. In fact, as we speak, Nitish Kumar has already become the CM of Bihar for the sixth-time with the support from BJP (no points for guessing).

He is joined by Sushil Modi as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Needless to say, Tweeple are making themselves heard as #GharWapsi trends on Twitter.
