Pakistani Singer Momina Mustehsan won hearts everywhere with her soulful rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s iconic ‘Afreen Afreen‘, alongside Rahet Fateh Ali Khan in Coke Studio. After the performance, the singer became an absolute sensation!
However, soon after winning hearts, she broke a few of them too when she announced her engagement to a US-based banker Ali Naqvi in September last year.
Hi world. Meet my fiancé, Ali Naqvi. We met each other for the first time less than a month ago, our families really liked each other and now we're engaged. Though we wanted to keep this only between our close family and friends, and celebrate this privately and get to know each other without unnecessary hype and interference, news got everywhere. I firmly believe that everyone has a right to keep their private life to themselves, but in this case, the ball is no longer in our court
Well, those broken hearts can now rejoice!
Momina Mustehsan recently confirmed via Instagram that her engagement with Ali Naqvi had been called off.
There were rumours about her breaking off the engagement for a while now but this is the first confirmation we’ve seen from the singer herself.
Her Instagram story soon went viral and her fans had several questions. Addressing all of them, Momina posted this tweet.

For celebrities, public speculation about their personal life has been an occupational hazard for the longest time. People have come to the most ridiculous conclusions based on what “sources close to the celebrity” have said. In the age of social media, almost anything has the potential of going viral, there is all the more reason for rumours to be kept in check.
We appreciate Momina for posting the details that she did in her latest Tweet. It’s a brave thing to do and I think we owe it to her to let her live her life and stop any further speculation. She’s human too, you know. 🙂
