Girl Borrowed A Notebook From Parents For College And Discovered An Emotional ‘Miracle Story’

Randomly picking out empty notebooks to use as rough books has been an exercise in every student’s life. But sometimes, those stored notebooks may house a treasure of emotion bringing back memories from the time when you had not even stepped foot in the world.

Hailey Weiss could not have imagined the whirlwind of emotions she would face when she picked up a notebook from her parents’ basement to use for the second semester of college. She found that the notebook held significant meaning for her parents. She then had a conversation with her mother and this is how it went.

She found a gestation calculator wheel in the pocket of the notebook which her mother used to track her pregnancy.

She also found a separate calendar showing dates between 1995-97 and words like “referrals”, “prescriptions” and “questions” written on various labels in her mother’s handwriting. It did not take her long to discover what she was looking at.

Hailey was completely overwhelmed by the discovery and expressed the same to her mother in the conversation.

As it turns out, Hailey’s parents, Carrie and Jeff, were having trouble conceiving her after her mother was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder which the doctors were able to treat.

With the help of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), her mother was able to give birth to Hailey. Although, they had been quite open with Hailey about their infertility struggles, she never expected to find evidence of the same.

Years later, her parents tried to apply the same strategy to conceive another child but it failed after Carrie was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. The couple had planned to adopt a second child but discovered that they had spontaneously conceived their son, Ethan.

On being asked about her struggle to motherhood and what advice she would like to give mothers who are facing a similar struggle, Carrie told Huffpost,

“I always just felt like whatever route it’s going to take I’m going to find my family. And families come in all different shapes and sizes and forms, and I truly believe that if people pursue family for the sake of having a family that they will find it.”

There are a lot of couples who long for a child but cannot conceive and this story just fills our hearts with hope that if you are determined enough, a miracle baby will come your way.
