Mike Ross Is Directing ‘Suits’ Premiere And If We Go By The Pictures It Has To Be AWESOME!

Suits Season 6’s winter premiere is next week and Suit-ors can’t keep calm. Time has come that we’ll finally get to know what happens to Pearson-Specter-Litt after Jessica Pearson’s exit. Returning to the director’s chair for the third time is our on-screen Mike Ross aka Patrick J Adams.

We laid eyes on some behind-the-scenes pictures of Patrick. And, he’s doing such a fine job that you’ll want to give him an up-top right away.

1. The winter premiere is a crucial episode and the directorial responsibility fell on Patrick’s shoulder.

“I just thought it would be a fun challenge to sort of be given the responsibility of manning that initial episode back after we’ve been away for a long time.”

2. He says the episode was a blast to direct but it was strange not having Gina Torres (Jessica Pearson) around. He says,

Suits - Season 6

“She’s been a part of our family for so long. While I think it’s good for the show to have something like that — a kick in the pants, something dramatic that affects all of the characters really dramatically — it’s really hard to lose a member of your family like that.”

3. Talking about the emotional territory the characters are in, Adams adds,Suits - Season 6

“Obviously, being the episode that we come back to after Jessica has left the firm, there’s a lot of stuff going on and lot of emotional territory that these characters are trying to work their way through. So I wanted to do justice to that and make sure I didn’t feel like we rushed through the whole thing.”

4. We all love how easy Mike and Harvey are on the screen. Patrick reveals how they are off it.

Suits - Season 6

“Gabriel [Macht] and I get along really well, both when he’s directing and when I’m directing.”

5. Of course, directing and acting are both taxing jobs, but Patrick says his team has such understanding that it doesn’t seem exacting.

Suits - Season 6

“I think we have a lot of patience and a lot of respect for how the other person views the material and a lot of trust. So, a lot of those scenes just came out very naturally by a lot of actors that trust each other, me giving them the space to play, and us sort of discovering it as smoothly and as quickly as possible.”

6. Adams has previously directed season 4’s ‘Derailed’ and season 5’s ‘Self Defense’ and ‘She’s Gone’ from season 6 is his third direction.

Since season 3 onwards, he’s also listed as one of the co-producers of the show.

Well, Patrick is just nailing the director bit just the way he nails cool unlicensed lawyer Mike Ross.
