Mark Zuckerberg Just Became Dad Of A Baby Girl, Pledges To Donate 99% Of Facebook Shares.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan just became proud parents of a baby girl, who has been named Max.

Zuckerberg shared a detailed note on Facebook titled, “A letter to our daughter” which talks about ‘advancing human potential’ and ‘promoting equality of all children’ among other things.

He further adds, “We will do our part to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation.” You can read the whole letter here.

 

Zuckerberg also announced that he and Priscilla will give away 99% of their Facebook shares – currently worth at $45 billion – to advance this mission

His letter say, “We know this is a small contribution compared to all the resources and talents of those already working on these issues. But we want to do what we can, working alongside many others”

 

The new parents also announced Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, an organization whose initial areas of focus will be personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities.
