Mumbai police have been quite the star on Twitter recently. Their sassy reply to Varun Dhawan clicking a dangerous selfie was savage AF! And they won hearts all over the Internet by helping a man who found a 3-5 day old baby abandoned in an auto.
They have shown their true calibre once again by helping a distressed Mumbaikar through Twitter. Sachin Garg tweeted his woes on forgetting his laptop in an auto in Juhu.
This is the most desperate moment of my life. Forgot my DELL laptop in an auto in Juhu. Have 6 months of without back-up work in it. Please RT and help me get it. At police station but not being able to trace.

Netizens came to Sachin’s rescue and retweeted his tweet until the Mumbai Police finally saw it. They responded almost immediately and told him to direct message his details to them.
We have followed you. Please DM your contact details.

Their quick response and immediate action was well appreciated by the netizens.
Sachin then took to Twitter, once again, to narrate the entire incident in a thread.
When Juhu footage, didn't help, I went to Santa Cruz and Bandra police station but that didn't help either. Some time in between I sent this tweet which immediately blew up. Within a few minutes I got a call from @MumbaiPolice cyber cell team, which was extremely helpful.

Power of social media can never be undermined.
Mumbai Police cyber crime cell was extremely helpful. Sachin asked them to give a message to all the police stations nearby to find the bag and, even gave them his phone number to contact him.
I told them that the CCTV footage route hasn't proved to be helpful. They asked if there was anything else they could do. I asked them for one thing – send a proper message to all nearby stations about finding this bag, with my phone number.

Then the day looked up for Sachin when he got a call from the Malwani police station saying that an auto driver had come with a bag.
And then at 1am last night, I got a call from some Malwani police station saying that the auto guy had come with some laptop. I said I'll come immediately. When I reached, the bag indeed was mine.

And to Sachin’s luck, the bag was actually his!
Thanking Twitter and the Mumbai Police, Sachin said that the only way the Malwani Police would have his number was because everyone got together to help him out!
The only reason Malwani station had my number was because this tweet blew up and Mumbai Police had relayed the message spread the message properly. So, thanks a ton Twitter and my book would not be delayed by 6 more months because of you. I love you all who RTed.

His genuine happiness reflected in the tweet when he said that his book wouldn’t be delayed by another six months.
Maybe after all these stories, we can finally stop complaining about how callous the authorities are and start appreciating them some more. Also, as a side note kids, maybe start backing up important documents!?
