Man Sends Creepy Messages To 18-Year-Old Girl Who Approached Him For Startup Advice

Saying that casual sexism exists in our society is like stating that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. But gone are those days when women would suffer in silence.

Bringing such incidents to light, here’s a woman who spoke about a borderline creep, who instead of professionally helping her, began harassing her.

18-year-old Lydia Jones had no clue what she was walking into when she approached a male entrepreneur for help with some start-up related inquiries. She connected with him through a help-group on Facebook called the London Startups And Entrepreneurs Group.

When Lydia revealed that she is a proud homosexual woman, the man couldn’t really gulp it. And he asked her more creepy questions like, “Don’t men turn you on at all?”

Instead of asking her about the issues that she is facing or understanding if there’s a way he can help her, he kept on asking her questions about her age, sexual orientation and what not.

 

When Mashable approached the guy and asked him why did he behave with a woman like that, he said,

 

He also went out to say she was harassing him for free advice and it was not the other way round.

 

Thankfully, no one is buying his defensive rejoinder and everyone on the internet has called him out.

A study suggests that one in every 10 women in the tech industry becomes a victim of unwanted sexual attention.
