“We Should Not Get Inspired From India.” Mahira Khan’s Old Interview Goes Viral.

Mahira Khan is soon going to be seen marking her debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees on January 25. But before that, a clip of her taking a dig at Bollywood and at India has surfaced on the inter-web.

A 2011 video, uploaded by Livevision USA, of Mahira’s appearance on a chat show hosted by comedian Omar Sharif has come to people’s attention. In it, you can see her snubbing Bollywood and India, while talking about the Pakistani film industry.

“Aapko India se inspire nahi hona chahiye. Bilkul nahi. Hum Bollywood nahi hain (You should not get inspired from India. Not at all. We are not Bollywood),” she said when Omar prompted that their nation comes first for them.

Remember, just this month Shah Rukh Khan met with MNS Chief Raj Thackeray and agreed that Mahira wouldn’t be promoting the film in India? So with Raees‘s release only few weeks away, we have to wait and see how this is going to affect the film’s publicity?
