9 Life Lessons We Should Take Away From Game Of Thrones After The Season Finale

If we are done orgasming after the brilliant finale, and all the “King’s Landing” jokes, there is a lot to take away from the finale.

For all the sadness and outrage and anger we have felt for every person who died and all the wrong people who remained happy, karma finally did its job in the season 6 finale. And that is why it was so satisfying.

1. Always supervise your kids. Talk to them about their problems.

Even if you think they are old enough to take care of themselves. You need to talk to the young ones to understand what they are going through. Most parents have no idea when their children commit suicides.

The finale was a classic example of parents being too busy with their lives, that children are ignored and wrestle with their emotions solo.

2. Sometimes courage is found in the most unexpected places.

We think that courage is the stuff of strong, tall men with beards and masculine bearings. Truth is, the size of a fight does not depend on the size of a person.

Lady Mormont is a shining example that even a child with exceptional courage can rally fully grown men to a good cause.

3. Loyalty pays. Sincerity pays too. Be loyal to the people you believe in.

Tyrion was loyal to the king when he was at king’s landing as the hand of the king.

He was loyal to the queen he served at Mereen.

Loyalty is rare, but the rewards we reap are for the long run.

4. Whereas cunning does not, however convincingly you have played it.

GOT-LIFE-LESSONS-5

Cunning is as short lived as loyalty is long lived. Somehow the short term benefits really lifted Margery to a place that was safe, but if she would still have revolted, she would have been at a much better place.

5. No one is untouchable. No one. Overconfidence is a dangerous thing.

However powerful you are, no matter how many people you command and influence. You are as vulnerable as the beggar on the streets.

No one is untouchable in this world. Empires have been brought down, Careers have been destroyed. No one is untouchable.

6. Establishments and institutions fall. People remain. Believe in people.

Institutions are made of bricks and stones. Establishments too. Believe in people, instead. Like Tyrion. Believe in yourself. Like

Believe in people, instead. Like Tyrion.

Believe in yourself. Like Cercei.

8. No matter how much of a misfit you think you are, there is always a place for you in this world.

You may not be an excellent swordsman. You may be queer. You may be shunned by the people for being fat. You may be discriminated against because of your birth.

But there is always a place in this world for you. Somewhere. You just have to find it.

9. And lastly, NO ONE is safe from the FRIENDZONE.

GOT-LIFE-LESSONS-7

No. Not even Daario Naharis, the most good looking guy in Game Of Thrones.

Yes, good things might sometimes not happen right away. Sometimes it takes years for the right things to happen. Sometimes we feel that things are just unfair. Sometimes we think that bad things happen to good people.

But in the long run, for people who have been malleable, for people who have been aware, for people who have been loyal, things turn out to be good.

And at the end of the day, when you see it all unfold, the feeling is great.

Also, it really helps when your life’s background score is composed by Ramin Djawadi.
