We have seen babies getting rescued unscathed from fires, building wrecks, and even earthquakes. By some grace of the universe, they’re always saved, and are relatively unharmed. And now, the same grace has been lent to this kitten as well.
Bobby the kitten got trapped in a washing machine cycle for two minutes, at a temperature of 60° C.
Her owner, Lisa Keefe, said her nine-month-old kitten often had the habit of getting inside the washing machine and she’d have to put her out before putting in a load. But this time, she must’ve snuck in and hid under a piece of clothing. Ms. Keefe said that she thought something was off when she heard thudding sounds from the washing machine.
Bobby was rushed to the hospital and there she was wrapped in a warm blanket, and given IV fluids to treat for her shock.
The vet said that this was the first case of its kind that he had seen. But soon, in a couple of hours, Bobby was feeling alright. And now she doesn’t go near a washing machine, as she has learned her lesson. Bobby was also nominated for a PDSA (People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals) Pet Survivor award.
