In India right now, the flavour of the season is Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Everything, starting from his Taj Mahal photo op to his Sabarmati Ashram visit has been covered with much aplomb.
In fact, jab Trudeau met Bollywood, wearing the dressiest of sherwanis it pretty much had movie potential! Or at least, that’s what Twitter joked about. But the fact remains that the Canadian family seems to be having incredible amounts of fun living the Bollywood dream. And of course, is any filmy dream complete without the ritual song and dance? No way!
The beats of the dhol seemed to have done the trick! Canadian PM Justin Trudeau could not resist the lure and broke into an impromptu bhangra jig at Canada House in New Delhi!
After a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the Trudeaus were seen indulging in some cricket with Kapil Dev and Mohammad Azharuddin. It sure looks like Justin Trudeau cannot get enough of all things Indian, because lo and behold! He checked bhangra off his list too!
Dressed yet again in a black sherwani (it seems like a wardrobe staple now), Trudeau was seen shaking a leg to the dhol beats as he stepped on to the stage, cameras a-flashing.
It was just a small jig until he was asked to go ahead and dance away, which is when inhibitions were shed and he did a proper jig for the cameras! Check it out.

Nice moves, Mr. PM!
However, while you and I may commend him for his dancing prowess, not everyone seems to be impressed with how the Canadian PM has been conducting himself on this ‘diplomatic’ trip. And this seems to have irked the critics even more.
He has already been mocked for his OTT dressing during the trip, but now it looks like the people from his own country are his harshest critics.
But first, some appreciation for his talent!
1. Pretty awesome!
Damn, those are pretty awesome bhangra moves. Not easy to do. https://t.co/ic9jbd6EBK

3. You rock… the dance floor, Mr Trudeau!
This is one of the best things i have seen on twitter.
I pray that our leaders can also let go of there prejudices and free themselves to have more acceptability among young people.@JustinTrudeau sir, you rock!! https://t.co/yvqSlK4hzu— नीरज मिश्रा (@Neerajmishra) February 23, 2018
4. Umm… maybe he missed the memo!
Can someone tell him Indians don't live like they are in a Bollywood set 24×7 @vidurkhanna

6. You don’t say!
"This is one for the history books," Trudeau says about his visit.
Oh, you bet.

9. The critics have spoken!
🤦♂️ This isn’t multiculturalism. It’s a desire to be popular like a rockstar. It’s the equivalent of Modi breakdancing on his trip to Canada. Trust me, not everybody loves this guy.

10. Perfect description if there was any!
That one white guy in every brown group. https://t.co/wysUewRuUb

As a huge chunk of Canadian and Indian population trash Trudeau’s stance during the entire trip, there are also those who have enjoyed how the PM has enthusiastically embraced the culture of the country he has visited, without any inhibitions.
And TBH, you cannot deny, those WERE some killer bhangra moves! But then again, what else can you expect from the PM of ‘Cannedda’!
