Tired Of Waiting For Political Parties To Do It, Mumbai Residents Self-Inaugrated Flyover

Have you been to those functions where the chief guests take forever to come and you do nothing but sit and wait for hours? I think they have this false notion in their head that the longer they make the people wait, the important they must be.

However, more often than not, it leaves the waiting public frustrated.

In a recent case in Mumbai, residents of Jogeshwari area, who were eagerly awaiting the inauguration of Jogeshwari flyover, decided to take the matter in their hands.

While the political parties debated over who would cut the ribbon of the 2.25 km flyover, the residents inaugurated the bridge themselves.

The controversy that delayed the politicians was whether Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray or CM Devendra Fadnavis will cut the ribbon and inaugurate the flyover which will connect Jogeshwari East and West to SV Road and Western Express Highway.

One of the residents, Sampath K Iyenger decided to remove the barrier and inaugurate it himself along with other residents of the area.

While the residents are happy with the decision the management didn’t have the same outlook. Speaking to Mid-Day, Chief engineer, Bridges department, BMC, SO Kori, said, “The flyover hasn’t been officially inaugurated. We have asked for additional security now.”

But we hope that it should have at least taught political parties a lesson, of how their political tiffs often cause a major inconvenience for the common man.
