Jason Momoa Said His Favourite Thing About GoT Was He Got To ‘Rape Beautiful Women’

No, this is not another ‘GoT is the best show’ article. Yes, I might have come to you earlier, professing my love for the same and Jason Momoa aka Khal Drogo but today is not one of those days. In fact, I’d be lying if I said my feelings didn’t take a hit after what (re)surfaced on my timeline today.

What happened you ask? Well, a six-year-old old video of Jason Momoa from 2011 is making the rounds of the internet and his words will actually, quite literally, make you cringe.

The video went viral after allegations against Harvey Weinstein and Ben Affleck made waves on social media.

Shared by a certain Twitter user, the video dates back to 2011’s San Diego Comic Con where Jason, in the presence of his co-stars, including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau cracked a rape joke.

When someone asked what did like most about working on GoT, he said,

“I love that there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out their throat and get away with it.”

“And rape beautiful women.”

You know what the worst part is? While several members of the show including Lena Headey looked embarrassed, the crowd roared with laughter.

Don’t believe me? Watch the video here.

Needless to say, the video drew a lot of backlash with angry fans condemning Jason for his insensitive comment.

So much so that, the star has now taken to Instagram to apologise for his ‘tasteless’ comment.

I APOLOGISE Aloha j

“I APOLOGISE.”

While that is that, nothing takes away from the fact that showbiz, by virtue, is sexist. And if this tells us anything about the way industry functions, it is that male entitlement had actors blinded by the notion that they can do anything and GET AWAY WITH IT! But not anymore.

Sorry, Jason. Your apology is too little, too late!
