13 Things You Face When You Take An Introvert Out To Socialize

If there is one thing you should know about being friends with an introvert, it’s that they will almost never suggest going out and socializing as an activity. Meeting new people, making new friends, making random connections-introverts find it really hard to do because they’re too caught up with enjoying their own company. And you, as an extrovert, will find it troublesome to make them do it.

Here are the things an extrovert faces when they take an introvert outside to mingle.

1. First, convincing them to go out is a Herculean task in itself

There is nothing harder than asking a homebody to leave their bed and go out and talk to other people.

2. They will always have a number of weird excuses to not leave home

“No, I can’t come out tonight. I have to wash my cat.”

3. You have heard them ask, “how many people are going to be there?” before they say yes to going out

You have to be really careful about that.

4. You have to wait and give them time to evaluate whether to go or not

Because it really is a genuinely hard decision for them to make.

5. The feeling when you finally convince them to go out is priceless

When they’ve agreed after you begged, threatened, and promised them favours in return. Sigh.

6. They will still make excuses when they’re getting dressed

“This is too revealing. This is too conservative. I need yellow shoes with this. I need a haircut before I can wear this dress.”

7. Even though they don’t say it, you can sense their disapproval of going out when they can stay home instead

Grumpy level: 1000.

8. You have to make sure they’re having a good time if you’re out at a club or a social gathering

And more often than not, they’re aren’t.

9. They’re most likely to be standing in a corner at a party, or are just really quiet the entire time

They even come across as rude or aloof, and it pisses you off.

10. Getting them to do silly things while you’re having fun is difficult

Like making them dance in a group, or take part in some funny Karaoke. Tough.

11. Having to hear things like, ‘listen, can we leave now?’ is a common thing for you

And sometimes, you have to cave in, even though you hate it.

12. On the upside, you feel like you have achieved something great when your friend strikes a chord with some person at the gathering

YAAAAAASSSSSSS!

13. And when you watch your friend having fun their own way, it makes you happy

And it gives you a new ray of hope that your indoorsy friend will finally start going out more, with you by their side.

The bottom line of it all is: Introverts are awesome. They just keep it to themselves. 😉
