It’s everywhere, you know Facebook, Whatsapp and all over social media. Active 25 mins ago, online now, active yesterday, blue ticks, read messages- sometimes it gets so frustrating! Argh!
Now, for everyone who didn’t know- it’s on Instagram too. Instagram also shows who all on your list were active when and people can see if you’ve been on the app, for how long and also when you’re ignoring them.
Why you do this Instagram, WHY? I very conveniently would stalk people all night while dodging people who direct messaged me. Why would you not let me have some piece of mind?
Netizens were clearly disappointed with this unnecessary feature and expressed their sorrow on Twitter.

But guys if you’re anything like me and you spend most of your day on Instagram, but also don’t want people to know about it. I know how you can switch off the ‘active’ feature.
- Open the app and head to Settings.
- Scroll down until you see the new ‘Show Activity Status’ option.
- Toggle the feature off.
