The Indian Women Hockey Team Makes History. Gets Into 2016 Rio Olympics.

It’s time we move our eyes from cricket for a bit and watch the excellence of other sports stars. The Indian women hockey team has been creating waves nationwide for a while and today we are absolutely proud of them.

Indian women hockey team got a berth for 2016 Rio Olympics. The last time an Indian team reached the Olympics was in 1980.

In the World Hockey League, they stood fifth, which was held in July. Since then, they have been waiting for Rio Olympics and now that it is guaranteed that they will appear for it,  it is a huge accomplishment.

Even the head coach was jubilant as this is what he was expecting from his team. This is what he had to say,

”The team is doing very well and improving perfectively. We have pointed out mistakes and loopholes in the previous matches and we are positively working on those issues. The players are keen learners and work really hard, which is a very good thing for the team.”

Obviously, Indians were proud and took to Twitter to express that.

Also, India became the 10th team to qualify for the Rio Games after South Korea, Argentina, Great Britain, China, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.

This is such a proud moment for India. My heart swells with pride as I write this. We congratulate them and wish that they achieve more milestones in their field and they all go “CHAK DE!”
