Traffic police in India are almost synonymous with stopping motorists and taking bribes. To change this faulty and negative image, Mumbai Police implemented the e-challan system to prevent the instances of bribes.
Hyderabad Police has not implemented the e-challan system yet. And with ever-vigilant citizens with their mobile cameras around, you would expect them to be more careful while taking bribes.
Not this traffic police guy. He was caught red-handed taking a bribe from a scooter-driver on a busy Hyderabad street. He first checked the driver’s license and stalled him after that, evidently looking for a bribe.
In the background, you can see the other police officers waiting to catch other offenders. This policeman checks and re-checks his surroundings before taking the bribe and letting the motorist go free.
After the clip went viral, Hyderabad Police took action against the erring policeman and suspended him from the Traffic Department.

This is how vigilant citizens can pitch in and make our society a corruption-free one. Even when we are not involved in the incident, just by spreading awareness, we can together curb such instances of bribery in broad daylight.
