How are we supposed to feel safe when our protectors turn into our intimidators? When the reason we sleep peacefully at night becomes the reason that we can’t sleep at all?
In a soul shattering incident, Megha Gupta a resident of Rohini, Delhi was faced with a trauma unspeakable of when her husband, Amit Gupta was brutally beaten up by a drunk cop.
Megha Gupta has written a Facebook Post alleging that when her husband Amit was returning from Punjabi Bagh, his car banged into a cop’s bike who was coming from the wrong side. She further describes the whole incident and it’s giving us the chills. Read along –
I am Megha gupta. I need your help. I stay in rohini sec 11, rohini. My husband Amit gupta was brutally beaten by policemen on 18th May. He was coming back home from a party at Punjabi bagh.
Near our house his car hit police’s motorcycle which was coming from the wrong side. The policeman who was riding the bike was drunk and due to the accident he fell from the bike. My husband got out of the car to check on him. But the policeman started beating him up and called other some other policeman also.
Without listening to my husband’s plea, they took him to Prashant vihar police station. There he tied his hands and beat him up.
After some time they took him to Ambedkar Hospital and got his MLC done. The policeman who fell from the bike got a bruise on his arm.
After this they again took him to police station and hit him with lathis and belts. All this while they did not let him call his family, abused and harassed him to limits beyond imagination.
At 6 in the morning they allowed him to call his brother and demanded 1 lakh rupees to leave my husband. They finally agreed to take 60000 rs and let him go. All of the CCTV footage of the police station shows the evidence of the inhuman treatment the policemen gave to my husband. Even after repeated police complaints no one is taking any action.
Please help us in getting justice. Since the incident the family is also being harassed and pressured to take the case back. For your reference I am attaching some photos to the mail. We have organized a protest against them outside Prashant vihar police station today at 6pm.

Isn’t that too gory to read? If her allegations a true, the cop and his entire team is at fault. And truly, it’s scary. This is exactly why feel unsafe in the world we live in.
