If you ever come across a giant crocodile right in the middle of the road in Sulthanpalya, in North Bengaluru, don’t be shocked. That’s a life size artwork put there as a mark of protest over the callous attitude of the civic authorities.
Baadal Nanjundaswamy, a 36 year old visual artist, turned the pothole into a crocodile pond to draw attention to the crater that has been bothering the citizens for over a month.
The consistent rain and the traffic had eroded the road creating a big pothole, caused due to a broken water pipe.
Baadal, known for his civic activism, started painting around the pothole in fluoroscent colours, so as to draw attention to the crater.
Then came the biggest surprise. He planted a life size fake reptile in the 12 feet long pothole.
The crocodile pond did not exactly attract the attention of the civic authorities, but it indeed attracted the curiosity of the citizens.
Is the crocodile a real one? What a wonderful way to draw the attention of the authorities.
Kudos to Baadal Nanjundaswamy.
We are yet to know, if this will work or their skin is thicker than the crocodile?
