Remember Manny Gutierrez, Instagram’s ‘beauty boy’ who’s makeup pictures have garnered a fan following of over 3 million? Well, the make-up enthusiast recently became the first male face of Maybelline’s ad campaign. The world cheered his appointment and hailed Manny for shattering gender stereotypes.
However, this conservative blogger, Matt Walsch, didn’t seem quite happy. For reasons devoid of logic, Matt decided to post a homophobic tweet questioning Manny’s upbringing.
Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons. pic.twitter.com/8ybirgppKi

Tsk tsk tsk. Why? Just, why?
We were all expecting a stellar comeback from Manny himself. However, it was Manny’s father, Mr Gutierrez senior who responded to this homophobe in the most epic way, winning hearts everywhere!
My dad is a fucken SAVAGE, I can't with him ❤️ pic.twitter.com/iWceEmZ6L4

Manny Gutierrez set an example for millions when he was chosen to be the face of Maybelline. He showed off his make-up with pride and shattered the long-standing stereotype that make-up was only for women.
While I personally would not enjoy so much makeup on my face, that doesn’t give me the right to question somebody else’s lifestyle choice. Some people like thick leather jackets with spikes, some like tattoos, some prefer piercings and others enjoy makeup. Let’s stop with the strict association of any of these with a particular gender.
Live your life the way you want, and let others do the same.
A total cliché, but hey, it gets the point across, right?
