We often hear news of leopards, elephants and other wild animals found wandering and  loitering in so called ‘human’ spaces viz. villages, towns and even cities. This type of unwanted contact/conflict is dangerous for both the parties involved.
But what we fail to understand is that such incidents happen as there’s a lack of room for wildlife in India. Dr. Krithi Karanth, a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and wildlife conservationist, makes an emotionally charged up case against the meager 4% land area set aside for wildlife in India.
