I’m a huge sucker for American rom-coms with their grand proposal stories! Everything about it screams romance: the going down on one knee, the girl’s surprise and tears, and the ring, of course!
Now picture this: It’s the second day of the first Ashes Test between Australia and England. The Gabba stadium is choc-a-block with Aussie and England supporters cheering for their respective teams. And amidst all this, a proposal!
Yep, it’s true. Cameras went a-flashing but not at the ground where the two teams were playing but at the stands, where a man proposed to his girlfriend!

During the second half of Day 2, Michael Langridge, dressed only in his swimming trunks, proposed to girlfriend Tori Roebuck at the pool deck from where they had been enjoying the match.
Yeah, why go black-tie at a romantic restaurant when you can go almost naked at a cricket stadium?
But Langridge thought the setting was perfect so he went ahead and popped the question!

With England taking the coveted Ashes trophy home last year, the Aussies are desperate to have their shot in the sun this time around. But whoever wins, Michael Langridge has already won girlfriend (and now fiancee Tori Roebuck’s heart. And ours too!
