These Delhi Grandmoms Road Tripping Across India Have Given Me The Perfect Retirement Plan

When I say retirement, most of us think of relaxed mornings, sitting on the balcony, sipping tea and watching the sun rise. It’s a time to chill, contemplate, reminisce and unwind. You’ve worked the grind for several years and paid your dues. Now all you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for the sweet kiss of death. But these grandmoms are having none of it.

They’re calling themselves ‘Nanis on the Highway’ and are enjoying their retirement in the most badass way possible:

1. Neeru Gandhi (60), Monicka Chanana (62) and Pratibha Sabharwal (51), post retirement, have become regular road trippers!

2. Last year they embarked on a road trip from Delhi to Rameshwaram, crossing five states covering a distance of over 4400km!

3. Of course, they did stop for ice cream. 🙂

4. They planned their trip using Google Maps and even taught themselves several life skills like fixing the car, using tripods, cameras, payment apps etc.

5. On the way, they faced difficulties including flat tires and faulty break pads. So the skills certainly came in handy.

6. The SWAG in this photo is just too damn high!

7. And we certainly don’t want to miss out on Holi, do we?

8. Camel ride? Bring it on.

9. Don’t they look like they’re just about to drop a sick album?

10. Totally loving the spirit of these ladies! What’s more, they’re all set to embark on their next big adventure this year from Rajasthan to Gujarat, a distance of over 4000km.

Who said retirement was just about relaxing? Retirement can be anything you want it to be. Your life is sorted, you’ve got all the time you need, how about an epic adventure? I say, why not, eh?

Kudos to these badass ladies really living it up in their retirement!
