Yesterday, children’s day had adults all over the country reminiscing their childhood. Social media was flooded with people sharing the pictures of either themselves growing up or the ones of their children.
Goa CM, Manohar Parrikar shared an incident from his childhood while addressing a group of school students. According to India Today, when asked what movies he watched as a child, he said,
“We would not just watch movies, we have also watched adult movies of that era. You are seeing more things on TV now than what was shown on adult movies back then.”
The BJP candidate and former defense minister of India then went on to elaborate the story. He went on to tell the school kids how he got busted while watching the movie. He said,
“There was a popular (adult) movie. I was an adult at that time. My brother and I had gone to watch it. During interval, when the lights came on, I realised that my neighbour was sitting next to me. This neighbour used to chat with my mother every evening. I told myself, we are dead.”
Just then, like every desi kid ever Parrikar and his brother, Avdhoot, ran for their lives. In a bid to save themselves from a beating, they decided to take pre-emptive measures.
They told their mother that they had gone to the movie unknowingly. But left midway when they realised what it was. They also managed to mention that their neighbour was there too. Next day, when the neighbour told their mother about the incident, she said,
“I know which movie they went for, but why did you go for the movie?”
Reminds us of our own childhood days, doesn’t it? What fun! 🙂
