Indian are jugaadus and creative people. It’s a fact that’s proven. But, sometimes their creativity knows no bounds and they cross the thin line between what’s ethical and what’s not.
In a case, that seems to be straight outta a Bollywood film, a 24-year-old Latur woman send Kondhwa police on a chase after her boyfriend. She furnished a fake complaint letter to the police of a false case of gang rape against him and his friends. There was no FIR.
The woman, on October 9, came to Kondhwa Police (Pune). Following which the police started looking for the man. When they met, they got married soon after that.
When the police found him, he revealed that he was in love with the woman but was fed up with her incessant messages. The man hails from Latur and had moved to Pune recently.
Kondhwa police’s senior inspector Milind Gaikwad told Times of India on Sunday,
“We decided not to take any legal action on humanitarian grounds but the woman has certainly misused the police machinery. The two got married on October 27.”
Umm. This is weird. She sent the police on a chase, because he was avoiding her. And, she fabricated a fake gang rape story. At least some action should be taken against them for wasting precious time of police and for using a serious crime like gang rape so casually.
