12 Tricks You Can Try If You Have Trouble Waking Up In the Morning

Getting up in the morning is one challenge we all face every day. It’s not that we don’t want to get up early but it’s just that we can’t.

Every morning, the snooze button seems way more tempting than getting out of the bed. We all love the ‘extra 5 minutes’ and still, we all want to get rid of it.

So, here are few ways that will definitely help you to get out of bed early.
 

1. Follow the one-minute early rule

One of the most tried and tested way to get up early is to follow the ‘one-minute early rule’.
The best method for waking up early is to do it gradually — start waking up a minute early every day. Say, if you generally wake up at 9 but you want to wake up at 6, don’t make the jump all of a sudden.

Rather, be slow and steady. Well, you might think technique is slow but trust me, this would help your body adapt more easily and help you become an early riser.
 

2. Set a loud and unpleasant alarm

Most of us set either our favourite song or a particular tune that we like as our alarm. So, in the morning, the sound of the alarm sounds rather pleasant and we tend to enjoy our sleep more. This can be changed if we set a loud and unpleasant alarm.

If we do so, it would not only disturb our pleasant sleep but it would also force us to wake up and shut the alarm off.
 

3. Keep a glass of water and an apple ready by your bedside

It has been proven that dehydration is one of the important reasons why we fail to wake up in the morning. So when your alarm goes off in the morning, the first thing you do is drink a glass of water and eat an apple. This works like magic.

The glass of water keeps you from being dehydrated and the apple refreshes you. Just try it for a couple of days and check the results yourself.
 

4. Keep the alarm clock out of reach from your bed

Most of us keep the alarm at a very convenient place, so, in the morning, we don’t even have to get out of our bed to put the alarm off.

A simple hack to get up early is to put your alarm away from your bed, so that, you actually have to get out of the bed to put the alarm off. Once you are out of your bed, you have already crossed the most important hurdle.
 

5. Keep your bed at a place where sunlight can enter in the morning

If you keep your bed at a place where sunlight can enter and preferably fall on your face then you would be forced to get up early. The sunlight in the morning might actually revitalize you.
 

6. Watch your favourite TV show/movie in the morning.

We often fail to get up early because we lack the proper motivation. One simple way to do so is to watch episodes of our favourite TV series or movies in the morning. Often many channels run repeat telecast of their popular shows in the morning.  Some channels also play some really good movies in the morning.
 

7. If anyone is an early riser in your family, ask them to turn your fan or A/C off in the morning

Another simple way to get up in the morning is to disrupt your comfortable sleeping environment. Often we fail to get up because we find our sleeping environment way too comfortable and it becomes really difficult for us to leave the bed and get up.

So, if this comfortable environment is disrupted then it would be easier for us to get up. If someone, who is an early riser, comes and switches off our fans or A/Cs then our comfortable sleep gets disrupted and we are forced to get up.
 

8. Read a good book before you go to bed

Getting up early not only depends on what we do in the morning but also what do at night. Before dozing off to sleep we often do stuff that creates unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Getting a stress free sleep is important if you want to wake up early.

Reading books like famous novels often help us to remain stress-free and ensures that we get a good sleep.
 

9.  Get rid of disorganized sleeping habits

Disorganized sleeping habits often do not allow you to get up early. It does not allow your body to adapt properly to any particular sleeping environment and therefore it becomes difficult to wake up early.

If you too have a disorganized sleeping habit then it is important to get rid of it first.
 

10. Avoid caffeine or alcohol before going to bed

So, you want to get up early. Avoid them.
 

11. Drink the right amount of water

One of the easiest hack to get up early is to drink the right amount of water. Here the ‘right amount’ is actually the key. For instance, if you drink less or no water before going to bed then you might feel thirsty in the middle of the night and it disrupts your sleep and on the hand if you drink too much water then you might feel the urge to rush to the loo as soon as you doze off.

Drinking right amount of water keeps you from getting dehydrated and helps you to get up early.

There is so better way to get up early than going to bed early. If you can hit the bed early then you would definitely be able to get up early.
