A Kind Gautam Gambhir Pledges To Fund The Education Of Deceased CRPF Jawans’ Children

Naxalism is the biggest internal security threat that India faces. All these brave CRPF soldiers lay down their lives for the country so that we may live a safe life. To show their respect and gratitude, celebrities offer support to the families of the martyred and now Gautam Gambir has also been added to that list!

The recent Maoist attack in Sukma district, Chattisgarh, took away the lives of 25 CRPF soldiers. Gautam Gambhir read about this in the papers and wrote,

“On Wednesday morning, I picked up newspapers and saw gut-wrenching pictures of the daughters of two CRPF men killed in the latest attacks. One was saluting her martyred father while in the other picture, the howling young woman was being consoled by her relative.”

 

The Gautam Gambhir Foundation which is formed to support the families of the martyrs has taken the onus of funding the education of children who have lost their fathers to the Sukma attack.

“The Gautam Gambhir Foundation will take care of the entire education expenses of the children of these martyrs. My team has already started work on this and I shall soon share the progress we have made.”

 

This Kolkata Knight Riders captain also said that it was difficult for him to concentrate on the game after the Chattisgarh incident. The KKR team played with black armbands to show respect to the deceased CRPF jawans. Gambhir had shown his sorrow by tweeting,

Gautam Gambhir has shown that he is a great human being by his actions. We need more of his kind!
