Losing your loved ones is one of the most difficult phases of life. Nothing can surpass the pain and regret that comes your way when we lose a loved one. We think of all the ways we could have told them so many things that were left unsaid before they were taken from us.
Our soldiers in the Army who put their life on the line so the citizens of the country can sleep peacefully, face this agony almost every day. However, the spirit with which they deal with this loss is what is commendable.
Recently, the Internet saw this spirit at the funeral of Wing Commander D Vats of Indian Air Force. He along with a co-pilot were killed after a microlight helicopter in which they were travelling crashed in Majuli island on February 15.
In a picture which has since gone viral, his wife Major Kumud Dogra, an officer herself can be seen walking up in full army uniform to pay her last tributes to her departed husband. But she is not alone, in her arms is her 5-day-old baby who is attending the funeral of the father she never saw.
The Internet has stood up together to salute the spirit of the wife of the officer. The picture has evoked a patriotism and respect in people that has left us speechless.
