During the depression era from 1929 to 1939, various flour mills in the United States of America started using flowered and printed fabrics for sacks when they realized that women were using them to sew clothes for their children.

If you look at these beautifully coloured fabrics with dainty prints of ballerinas and fancy tea pots, you will realize how all the hues and prints were very bright and lovely. Something children would love to wear.

Also, the company’s logo was printed with washable ink so that it does not spoil the look of the attire.

Kansas Flour was one of the few mills which initiated this practice.

It is very heart warming to see that even at the time of crisis, the humanity in people didn’t die. This example clearly proves that you don’t have to be extremely wealthy to help someone in need.
