If you are a Game of Thrones fan (if you aren’t, go watch the damn show Patrick), the above lines will remind you of some of the goriest deaths that have taken place in the first 60 episodes of the epic TV show. But have you ever wondered which one of the literally hundreds of deaths in the show was the most expensive to shoot?
Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D.B Weiss recently revealed the most expensive death scene in the sixty episode history of the show. And just like the plot of the show, you’d probably guess it wrong too.
Benioff and Weiss were speaking at the ‘South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
As it turns out, the death scene of Ser Meryn Trant was the most expensive to shoot. In the scene, Arya Stark digs Trant’s eyes out before slashing his throat.Â
The kill also made sure Arya crossed one enemy off her ‘list’.
When asked the reason for that scene being so expensive, Benioff gave a straightforward answer.
“She couldn’t really poke out his eyes.”
