Engineer Applies To Be India’s Cricket Coach So That He Can Fix Kohli’s ‘Arrogant Attitude’

After Anil Kumble resigned from the post of the coach of the Indian Cricket team, BCCI is on a lookout for a suitable candidate. While many names like Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, Tom Moody have been thrown around, the board has received an interesting letter from an unassuming candidate.

30-year-old, Upendra Nath Brahmachari, a mechanical engineer from Nashik has applied for the position of India’s next cricketing coach. He expressed his desire to coach the Indian team because he didn’t like the way Virat Kohli treated former coach Kumble. In an interview to Sportstar, Upendra said-

“I didn’t like the way Anil Kumble was treated by the Board and by Captain (Virat) Kohli. He was humiliated because he didn’t toe Kohli’s line. My application is in protest against that.”

The copy of the email possessed by Sportstar, the mechanical engineer believed that coming from a non-cricketing background will act as an added advantage and help in favour of the team. Not just that, he further said that he will be able to understand and fix Kohli’s ‘arrogant’ attitude.

“Why I should be appointed as the head coach? Because I can adjust with the arrogant attitude of the captain and no legend can do so. Slowly I will drag him onto the right track and then the BCCI can appoint a legend as the head coach.”

However, disappointment is in store for Upendra as the rules of BCCI clearly mention that candidates must have prior coaching experience to be applicable for the position of the head coach.

Upendra’s reason for applying, he says was his way of protesting-

“Even I know they (BCCI) would not call me for the interview, but with things looking shoddy, this was my way of protesting.”

While Upendra’s chances of becoming India’s next coach seem to be slim. Wonder what the other applicants like Sehwag, Tom Moody, Shastri have to say about this? And how will, the BCCI respond to this letter?

Guess, we will have to wait and watch!
