“I Was Holding The Best Actress Envelope The Entire Time,” Says A Baffled Emma Stone!

OKAY! the entire facade around the Best Picture goof-up at the Oscars 2017 has just unfolded into another debacle. And a massive one at that! Believe you me, this isn’t another drill!

While the presenters, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, of the 1967’s classic ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ stars, gave their side of the story, that they had the wrong envelope, the one that had the mention of Best Actress category. But Emma Stone who was on the stage with nothing but ‘OMG’, has broken her silence after the on-stage fiasco and shit just got real!

Emma Stone has come on record and given her version of the story that she had the envelope the whole time. Contrary to what the presenters said.

“I was holding my Best Actress in a Leading Role card that entire time. So whatever story … I don’t mean to start stuff, but whatever story that was, I had that card. So I’m not sure that happened.”

However, the blame game is lopsided because there are instances to suggest that Beatty was truly not to blame as there might have been more than just one card.

In fact, ‘Moonlight’ writer/director Barry Jenkins, who also addressed the media said the Academy had offered “no explanation” for the goof up.

“Things just happened. I saw two cards? Things just happen, you know. I wanted to see the card, to really see the card, and Warren refused to show the card to anyone before he showed it to me.”

While this looks like an ideal set up of a never-ending he-said and she-said, the truth still lies in the envelopes. But the question remains, whom to believe!?
