Drunk Man Travels 3 Countries In Cab, Gets ₹1.4 Lakh Bill, Goes Home And Sleeps Without Paying

A little time has passed since we ushered in 2018 but the memories of the night when we left 2017 for good, is still fresh in our memories. I’m pretty sure that during the celebrations, you may have met a few people who were more than enthusiastic to be partaking in the celebrations.

You know exactly who I am talking about. The friends who spend the entire evening shit-faced drunk only to call you next morning with the craziest anecdotes explaining what happened when they were going home.

Something similar happened to a man who got a little bit too excited for the New Year revelry and ended up having one too many drinks. However, his drunkenness caused him a tad bit more than it should have. I am talking almost ₹1.4 lakh! ($2,200 to be exact.)

Believe me, I wish I was kidding!

The man who is Norwegian was partying in Copenhagen’s waterfront district Nyhavn on December 31. After he wrapped up the celebrations, he ordered a cab service to take him back to his house in Oslo which is 600 kilometres away.

The six-hour car ride covered three countries starting from Denmark, through Sweden and finally ending in Norway.

As reported by BBC, the police said that upon reaching his house, instead of paying the fare, he went straight to bed. The taxi driver, unfortunately, was stranded outside his house because the car battery had died.

The driver then proceeded to call Oslo police for help and the police came with a towing vehicle for help. The drunken man was woken up by the cops after which he did agree to pay his fare of about 18,000 Norwegian kroner.

This man surely has set high standards for all the people who love telling stories about the time they were smashed. But on a serious note, drink responsibly!
