Dogs Eat Up Patient In MP Govt Hospital And It’s The 5th Incident In The Last 10 Months!

Let’s be honest, healthcare in our government hospitals does not meet global standards.  From a patient being made to eat her food off the floor to a patient’s eyes being eaten out by ants, incidents of abuse and neglect are plenty. Despite so many incidents being brought to light, the quality of care in government hospitals show no signs of improvement.

Most recently in a government hospital in Rajgarh, MP, the body of Bishmillah Bai, a 70-year-old patient was EATEN UP by dogs!

And the hospital was totally clueless that Bishmillah Bai was missing since the 22nd of March!

Sanitation workers happened to spot the woman’s remains in the backyard of her ward on the 26th of March. They were looking for the source of the stench which was causing distress to both patients and doctors since the past few days.

“Only her head and some upper body parts were left. The rest had been eaten up by animals.”

said Mukesh Gaur, the station in-charge of Kotwali Police Station. He also said there were signs that the body was dragged five to seven feet over the ground.

Such an incident begs quite a few questions. How did Bishmillah Bai’s body get from the hospital bed to the backyard of her ward? Was there no one looking after the patients at night?

However, what’s truly shocking is that this is the FIFTH such incident that has occurred in the last 10 months.

What does that say about our healthcare system?
