An Old Pet Dog Disappears For A Day But Returns With A Heartwarming Note In His Collar

Open any of your social media accounts, pictures and videos of cute cats and dogs will flood your timelines. Whether you love them or you don’t, there is no denying that we humans do not deserve dogs, their love and loyalty. But we’ve been blessed with it anyway.

So when Louie, the 12-year-old sheepdog disappeared for half a day, his human, Marolyn Driver, obviously got worried thinking he lost his way or he got hurt or something. However, he came back on his own by evening, looking exhausted.

What was even more surprising was the note attached to his collar. Marolyn instantly panicked thinking he had caused trouble to someone. However, the note declared Louie a hero and explained why.

The note read:

“Louie is the hero of the day. He led me to Maddy in distress stuck under a branch pile. Cheers, Rob.”

Rob is their neighbour who has a dog called Maddy. When Maroly approached him to know what exactly happened, he told her that Louie had saved Maddy’s life.

Maddy was stuck under a pile of branches and Louie found her. He then went back to Rob’s and insisted on being followed. Rob obliged and Louie led him to where Maddy was in trouble. With his help, the duo rescued Maddy.

Had it not been for Louie’s quick thinking, perhaps no one would have found Maddy. Marolyn told Bored Panda,

“Rob said the second she was free both dogs ran to a nearby pond and jumped into it exhausted and drinking water. He then gave Louie a huge handful of dog biscuits as a thank you. He knew Louie might get in trouble for being late home, so he thought he would write a small note to explain his absence.”
The old doggo was obviously exhausted when he got home, after all the digging and playing he had done during the day. He instantly cosied up and fell asleep when Marolyn covered him with a blanket.
Really though, dogs are a blessing to humankind. And Louie is a blessing to Maddy too. They’re the four-legged loyal friends who would stand by you when no one else would and love you when you don’t know how to love yourself.
